Avengers 4 Cancelled by Netflix
What the hell? How are they even allowed to do this?
BREAKING: A Bombshell out of Hollywood today as Disney revealed that the very highly anticipated Avengers 4 has been cancelled by streaming service Netflix.
“My initial reaction was, ‘what the hell?'”, said Marvel head honcho Kevin Fiege, “how are they even allowed to do this?”
It turns out that Netflix were not satisfied by their cuts of Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones, and wanted to take down an even bigger Marvel property. According to a Disney source, Marvel never read the terms and conditions for the deal that gave Daredevil to Netflix, and that the streaming service actually has veto privileges for any and all upcoming Marvel projects.
“It’s really irritating,” said Fiege in an interview today, “I mean, nobody who works here actually cares about those Netflix shows, but we worked hard on Avengers 4 and it’s a shame that we won’t be able to release it.
Netflix released the following statement on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Netflix is very proud of the work done by the very talented cast and crew of Avengers 4, but unfortunately, the film will not be produced. Our special thanks go to directors Anthony and Joe Russo, as well as Jeremy Renner (who we really loved in the movie Tag (2018).
Whilst fans won’t get to experience Avengers 4, we are satisfied that we ended the series on a high note, and hope our viewers will be satisfied with 10 more seasons of 13 Reasons Why Instead. A show so good it has been called, “likely to contribute to teen suicide”.
Netflix is hopeful that the beloved characters in the Avengers can live on in the future
Separating from the initial confusion, it seems that Netflix really is just intent on cancelling everything that they can get their hands on, even massive blockbusters which they have no involvement with.
Time will tell if Disney will be allowed to release Avengers 4 onto the new Disney Streaming Service.
