Marvel Making Doctor Strange 2 Even Though He’s Dead?
Well this is embarrassing
News today has reported that Marvel is actively developing Doctor Strange 2, with original director Scott Derrickson set to return for a sequel to the 2016 film. However, in a massive oversight, it seems that Marvel have forgotten that the character of Doctor Strange is, in fact, dead, having passed away during Avengers: Infinity War.
If you don’t remember, allow me to refresh your memory. Doctor Strange, as played by actor Bantamweight Cumbersome, joined Iron Man and Spider-Man on a trip to Titan in Avengers: Infinity War, Strange looked into the future, gave up the Time Stone, and fought with the Avengers. However, in the aftermath of Thanos’ infamous ‘snap’, Strange was one of many characters to fade from existence.
Since Strange definitely died in his previous film (and there’s clearly no way that he could possibly come back), it seems that the decision to move ahead with Doctor Strange 2 appears to be a massive oversight from Marvel.
There’s no doubt that the character is popular, but it’s hard to believe that Marvel would completely forget what happened in Infinity War. Time will tell if Marvel can recover from this huge mistake.
We approached Kevin Feige for comment but he didn’t return our fax.
