James Gunn to Direct Scooby Doo 3

Beleaguered director James Gunn has found his next project. After being fired by Disney for horrific old tweets, Gunn has been linked to a wide variety of releases, including a sequel/reboot to DC’s “What are we, some kind of Suicide Squad?” (2016).
Gunn was the writer for both of the original Scooby Doo movies in the early 2000’s, and was doubtless responsible for much of the wackiness they contained. Now, Gunn is set to hop into the director’s chair for a third installment in the infamous franchise.

The original cast, including Matthew Lillard and Freddie Prinze Jr. are all set to return for a third installment, that early reports say will focus on Shaggy discovering a hidden power deep within himself.
There’s no release date yet for the project, but the hype is at a fever-pitch. The movie could not have arrived at a better time, with nostalgia for the first two movies at an all-time high.
