Read our interview below:

FF: So Harrison Ford returns in this film…

u/StarWarsRox_69: Yeah! It was great to be able to resurrect the character and reveal that he’s still alive and kicking!

Wait? I thought he was a vision?

No! In this film we introduce the idea that, no matter how certain a character’s death is, we can save them by saying they were on a different transport.

That’s why we did it with Chewie, to set it up as a plot device to bring back Han.

But… we saw Han die?

We also saw Chewie die, but then we revealed he was on a different transport, so he’s fine.

…the lightsaber went through him?

Different transport.

Where has he been?

What part of “different transport” do you not understand.

He was on a different transport, he’s fine.

What about all the character development that came with Han’s death?

Oh yeah, I guess that’s on a different transport too.
